Creative writing students share their short stories and poems

We tempted you last week with some poems written by students in Hilary Lewis’ Creative Writing spring course.  Hilary and the students are now keen to share some more of their work, including short stories.

The 2 poems are by Janet Pinto.  Hilary explains. ‘There is another triolet on March by Janet and a humorous twist on the form in ‘Do you think…’. The poems are tricky to write because of repetitions and syllable patterns!’  Click on the links to read them:

Hilary also set a number of topics that the students used to compose short stories.  Some of the stories they wrote entirely on their own, whilst other tasks were done in pairs: an anecdote was told to a fellow student, who then had to write it in their own words.  The Royal Visit was written in this way.
