Students in the summer term’s Creative Writing course wrote some poems in their final session based on ‘kennings.’ What are these you may be asking? Simply put – short, snappy, descriptive, emotive poems. (Check out this link if you want a more grammatical answer).
WEA tutor, Hilary Lewis explains, ‘These are on an animal theme and were stimulated by Andrew Motion’s poem Sparrow. It was really just a chance to play with language but they are fun to read.’
