WEA tutor, Rikke Digerud-Waring, was on holiday earlier this year ‘down under’. This Trip has enabled her to share some new ideas with students from Leicester City Community Care Operations Team (LCCCOT)
Rikke says, ‘Hi, when I came back from Australia I (the Nia and Coleman neighborhood centre) did an impromptu lesson about wildlife in Australia particularly kangaroos. We made Aboriginal style kangaroo shapes for cards, made a card jig saw sculpture I had bought and ate kangaroo biscuits from a Kangaroo tin!!!! A lovely session!’
We think so, too! You can almost picture the kangaroos hopping and touch the colourful shapes on them.
