Working with Threadworks to offer sewing courses

Students' work - Threadworks (2)-w500-h500We are delighted to announce that we’ll be working with our new partner, The Threadworks, to offer courses in the spring term.

Natalie Smith and Rebecca Spear set up The Threadworks just over a year ago with the help of Demonfort University’s Square Mile Project.  It is based on the first floor of Fosse Neighbourhood Centre in Mantle Road. They have a large, very well equipped room full of sewing machines to help people learning this popular skill.  Making colourful tote bags, toilet bags and cushions are just some of the items students make while practicising setting up and using a sewing machine.

Courses will be held on Tuesday evenings and Wednesday mornings starting in February 2015.  Call 0116 255 6614 for more information.
