Conscience and Dissent: Starting Thursday 19th of November 2015 from 01.30 p.m. – 03.30 p.m. for 7 weeks. A WEA course held at 101 Hinckley Road, Leicester, LE3 0TD
We’ll consider reasons for conscientious objection in World War I, including family, political and religious factors, by seeking out contemporary and other sources of the period. Focussing on a number of individuals and their families, we’ll build a picture of the local context and historical background to the stance they took. Students will develop the skills to research an individual in both local and national contexts.
